For International Students

For International Students

Oberlin has about 190 international students—those who are citizens of foreign countries. Our community of international students comes from 48 countries, including Bahrain, Columbia, Ecuador, Kenya, Lithuania, Pakistan, South Korea, Trinidad, among others, and represent 8 percent of the student population. Before coming to the states, students begin consulting with the Office of International Students to ensure a smooth transition to their new home.

Professional staff in this office assists international students with a range of issues: immigration, cultural adjustment, travel advice, housing, financial aid, basic legal matters, medical and health insurance, and various kinds of counseling—academic, career, and personal. In collaboration with the admissions teams in the Conservatory of Music and the College of Arts and Sciences, Oberlin continues to have a sizable and thriving international community on campus.

Our staff will assist you as you make the various cultural and academic adjustments to college life. We also are available to offer guidance as you plan your life after Oberlin. Stop by Peters Hall, Room 205 for information and assistance.
