Curriculum Vitae

Eve Sandberg, professor of politics, received a BA from Boston University, and MA from the University of Pennsylvania, and a doctorate from Yale University. Her research centers on comparative democratization, political party systems, non-governmental organizations, the challenges facing African owners of medium-sized businesses, and gender studies. She has written about South Africa, Morocco, and Zambia. Her teaching focuses on international relations, Third World political-economies, African studies, and U.S. foreign policy.She also teaches a civil-society community outreach practicum that allows students to study not-for-profits and entrepreneurial small companies, as well as to provide research for local government officials and area not-for-profit organizations. She received the Distinguished Teaching Award from Oberlin College in 1999, the Outstanding Teacher Community-Based Learning Practitioner Award in 2005, and the Community-Based Learning Engaged Program of the Year Award in 2012.
