I am a Cleveland, Ohio native who decided to stay close to home for my undergraduate education. Fortunately, I had the option to both stay in the Cleveland area and attend a top rated liberal arts school. I graduated from Oberlin College in 2004 with a BA in biology. What initially drew me to Oberlin College was the diversity (cultural, regional, economic, etc.) of the student body and the school’s academic reputation. After graduating, I worked for a biotechnology company and then decided to go to Temple University for graduate school. I have an MA in anthropology and I am currently working on a PhD in anthropology with a focus on medical anthropology and the medical tourism industry in Latin America.

I am very happy to be back at Oberlin and I look forward to meeting prospective students and their families. I hope that my experiences as both an admissions counselor and a student at Oberlin College can help you in your college search.

In keeping with its long history of leading the way on access to an excellent liberal arts education, Oberlin College in 2012 eliminated loan requirements for incoming first-year students eligible for federally funded Pell Grants. The Oberlin Access Initiative is supported by trustees, alumni donors, and other friends and supporters.
