I am a Cleveland, Ohio native who decided to stay close to home for my undergraduate education. Fortunately, I had the option to both stay in the Cleveland area and attend a top rated liberal arts school. I graduated from Oberlin College in 2004 with a BA in biology. What initially drew me to Oberlin College was the diversity (cultural, regional, economic, etc.) of the student body and the school’s academic reputation. After graduating, I worked for a biotechnology company and then decided to go to Temple University for graduate school. I have an MA in anthropology and I am currently working on a PhD in anthropology with a focus on medical anthropology and the medical tourism industry in Latin America.

I am very happy to be back at Oberlin and I look forward to meeting prospective students and their families. I hope that my experiences as both an admissions counselor and a student at Oberlin College can help you in your college search.

Did You Know

Students who wish to pursue topics outside of traditional courses, an important alternative is available in the Experimental College (ExCo). Founded in 1968, ExCo is a student-run organization that sponsors courses (for limited academic credit) taught by Oberlin faculty, students, administrators, and residents. Rock climbing, performance swing, astrology, 16-mm film production, jump rope, bike mechanics, henna body art… you name it, ExCo may have a class about it.
