King Hall

As the main classroom building for social sciences, humanities, math, and computer science classes, King is always bustling. In addition to classrooms, large lecture halls have data/video projectors with touch-screen controls and network access. Offices of the departments of anthropology, classics, computer science, East Asian studies, expository writing, mathematics, philosophy, and sociology are located in King. Designed by Minoru Yamasaki in 1966, the building resembles the adjacent Conservatory of Music.
Social Science Data Lab
Located at: King Hall10 North Professor St., Oberlin, OH 44074-1097
This 20-station PC lab supports many types of research. Here students and faculty access a variety of economic, financial, and census data, from historical documents to the daily trading activity of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. Located in King Hall, the lab is available for general use when not reserved for social science classes.

World Heritage Information Network -- WHIN is a clearinghouse for information about World Heritage sites. These natural and/or cultural sites have been identified as being of "outstanding universal value" and inscribed on the World Heritage List by the Intergovernmental World Heritage Committee, following nomination by national governments.
Organization of World Heritage Cities -- (OWHC) was founded on September 8, 1993 in Fez, Morocco. As of December 31, 1995, the organization was made up of 123 cities in which are located sites included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. An international non-profit non-governmental organization, the Organization of World Heritage Cities was created to assist member cities adapt and improve their management methods in relation to the specific requirements of having a site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
National Park Service World Heritage Sites in the United States -- This Home Page is a joint effort between the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS) and the United States Committee, International Council on Monuments and Sites (US/ICOMOS). Throughout the world, national ICOMOS committees work to support the World Heritage Convention. In the United States, the NPS serves as chief steward of the nation's natural and cultural patrimony.
Inernational Council on Monuments and Sites: ICOMOS -- ICOMOS is an international organization of professionals dedicated to the conservation of the world's historic monuments and sites. Through National and International Scientific committees, symposia, and other meetings, ICOMOS provides a forum for professional dialogue and a vehicle for the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of information on conservation principles, techniques, and policies. This web server is designed to further this exchange and stimulate increased awareness of the world's cultural heritage at all levels.
US National Committee of ICOMOS -- The U.S. National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (US/ICOMOS) fosters heritage conservation and historic preservation at the national and international levels through education and training, international exchange of people and information, technical assistance, documentation, advocacy and other activities consistent with the goals of ICOMOS and through collaboration with other organizations. US/ICOMOS membership includes professionals, practitioners, supporters and organizations committed to the protection, preservation and conservation of the world's cultural heritage.
