Exposure to great works of art is an essential aspect of a liberal arts education. The museum has an active schedule of changing exhibitions from its permanent collection and on loan from other important museums. The Ellen Johnson Gallery, named for the influential art historian and curator who taught at Oberlin for 38 years, features works from the museum's modern and contemporary collections, ranging from Claude Monet's Wisteria to a recently acquired sculpture by Tim Hawkinson. Johnson died in 1992. (Photo by Jennifer Manna)
