Professor Kane is a classical archaeologist who has excavated in the US, UK, Greece, Tunisia, Yugoslavia, Libya, and Italy. She is co-Director of the Sangro Valley Project (Abruzzo, Italy) <www.sangro.org> and Director of the Cyrenaica Archaeological Project (Cyrene, Libya) <www.cyrenaica.org>. Her special research interests include Greek, Etruscan, and Roman sculpture and architecture, the study of ancient building technologies and building materials, and the use of archaeological sciences in the study of archaeology.
