Ron Cheung (Ph.D., 2006, University of British Columbia) conducts research in public finance and urban economics. He is particularly interested in how the growing trend of homeowners’ associations has affected municipal budgets, public services and local governance. In other research, he has also explored property tax limitations, local elections, land use regulation and housing markets. He joined Oberlin College after an assistant professor position at Florida State University. He currently teaches courses in public and urban economics, as well as principles of economics.
