The Gage Prize, no longer being awarded, was given for excellence in writing, specifically "for attainment in prose and poetic composition." The Prize was established in 1944 by James B. Gage, in honor of his wife, Natalia Stone Gage, who attended Oberlin from 1929 to 1931.
