Cooper International Learning Center

The Paul and Edith Cooper International Learning Center is a state of the art learning center specializing in foreign language education. The Cooper Center lab computers supports input and output in Arabic, Russian, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, and Italian. A variety of technology—Skype, Audacity, and Second Life, for example—promotes interaction with people in distant parts of the world. The lab also has birds that chirp and a fish tank that gurgles; ambient noises that put people at ease when making their own sounds.

Foreign language classrooms and offices are found in this picturesque building completed in 1887 and renovated in 1996. On the fourth floor is the Paul and Edith Cooper International Learning Center. Also housed in the building are the Office of the Dean of Studies (including academic advising, international students, study away, and winter term), Student Academic Services, Office of Undergraduate Research, Oberlin College Press, and the Learning Assistance Resource Center.
