Newly renovated Geology research laboratory
On Saturday morning September 22nd at 10am the faculty and students of the Department of Geology will thank Rick ’73 and Robin ’72 Black for their generous contributions to the department’s renovation of its facilities. The Blacks will honor two beloved faculty members, James Powell and Norman Grant, with named labs. A third lab will be named in honor of the Blacks and will be affectionately known as "The Black Hole." The Geology Department also wishes to express their deep gratitude to the Blacks for their continuing support of our field curriculum, assisting geology majors attending summer field camp, and their general enthusiasm for Oberlin College Geology.
