Tobias Pfutze (Ph.D., 2008, New York University) is interested in Development Economics and Political Economy. His current research focuses on the effects of migration on sending countries, as well as, the emergence/persistence of democratic institutions. He has also done work on the effectiveness of foreign aid. He joined Oberlin College in fall 2009 after spending one year as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Georgetown University.
