Professor Vujačić’s fields of specialization include sociological theory, political sociology and comparative-historical sociology, with a special focus on theories of nationalism and the development of communism and nationalism in the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia. He has published articles on these topics in Theory and Society, Post-Soviet Affairs, East European Politics and Societies, Comparative Politics, Research in Political Sociology, The International Encyclopedia of the Social Sciences, The Encyclopedia of Revolutions, The Concise Encyclopedia of Comparative Sociology, and various edited volumes. His book Nationalism, Myth, and the State in Russia and Serbia: Antecedents of the Dissolution of the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia came out with Cambridge University Press in 2015.
