BONITTO, Chantal '04
As a graduate of Oberlin College and the Fundraising Strategy Certificate Program at The George Heyman, Jr. Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising, New York University, I am very active in both Alumni networks. I am also involved in community work through my sorority activities and as a mentor with the Fresh Air Fund's College Connections Program.

There are opportunities to work with us as an intern.  This is a very progressive organization and I can see any Obie gaining a lot of knowledge around fundraising, non profit work and the women's movement.

They can email me with their resume and cover letter: cbonitto@ms.foundation.org. The subject should be "Potential Oberlin Intern"  (2012)

I've been working as the community manager at 10gen, a software company that develops an open source database product, MongoDB. I was working out of the New York City office and was relocated to London, UK for 6 months as part of the company's growth. I will be moving back to New York City in November.

10gen is looking for undergraduate students to join the Marketing team this summer. Interns will be exposed to a variety of marketing processes and tools and have the opportunity to learn about the growing open source software industry.

Here are some of the activities that interns may be expected to assist with:
Training logistics and strategy
MongoDB conference logistics and promotion
Lead database management, organization, and cleanliness  using Salesforce and Marketo
Marketing automation
Lead nurturing
Public relations
Social Media marketing
Website development

About You:
Smart, driven, and hard working
Interested in technology, startup culture, and new tools
Organized and used to managing multiple tasks
Willing to learn lots of new things in a constantly changing environment

As of right now I am in Vietnam teaching English and will certainly write a little bit more about that and send it to you in the coming days. Also, my home in Cambridge, MA is always open for Obies looking for a place over winter term.  sophia.rose.myers@gmail.com  (2012)

After graduating from Oberlin as a Sociology and Religion double major I went on for an M. Div. and a Ph. D. in Christian theology. My work in theology is focused on issues of power and discrimination as they affect religious thought and practice. I think Oberlin's sociology program helped me clarify this direction of study early on. I just completed my Ph. D. (graduated from the Graduate Theological Union in May 2012) and am working on several potential article and book projects. I have been active for years in More Light Presbyterians, the LGBT caucus of the Presbyterian Church (USA) working for the full inclusion of LGBT people, and am glad to report that we succeeded in changing the rules regarding ordination in 2010. I am also a pianist, and learned to accompany dance classes at Ohio Dance Theatre in Oberlin. I have been working as a professional pianist and teacher since about midway through my graduate study. I live in South Hadley, a small town in western Massachusetts with a great arts community, with my wife Gillian and daughter Tovah.

If any sociology students are interested in issues related to Christianity and gender/sexuality I would be happy to help connect them with academic and church-activist resources.  hreichgo@world.oberlin.edu

STEINFELD, Sarah '06

Thanks so much for reaching out! I actually just graduated from Columbia Law School in May and started a job about three weeks ago as a Judicial Law Clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice Executive Office of Immigration Review.  I spend most of my time researching and writing opinions for the six immigration judges in the Boston Immigration Court.

It's a fantastic job that my Oberlin education absolutely prepared me for.  I learned to research and write, but perhaps more importantly I learned about the circumstances in peoples' lives that contribute to their appearance before the immigration judges.  I think that gives me an important perspective as I aid the judges in making crucial decisions.

Although we've been hiring exclusively legal interns, I will investigate to see if we can coordinate a Winter Term internship.  If we can, we may not be able to start until 2014 because all positions require a rather extensive background check and there may not be time to complete it this year.

I would be happy to speak with any students interested in pursuing government work, the legal field, or immigration issues.  sarah.steinfeld@gmail.com  (2012)
