SAMPLE AUDITION WEEKEND SCHEDULE (tentative and subject to change)
For Jazz Studies auditionees:
11:00 a.m. - Conservatory Tour - leave from Conservatory Annex/39 W. College St. (Optional)
11:45 a.m. - Jazz Applicants: Register at Conservatory Admissions - Conservatory Annex/39 W. College St. - box lunches will be provided to students.
12:00 p.m. - Jazz Forum (Cat in the Cream or Bertram and Judith Kohl Bldg): A masterclass forum for current jazz studies majors to perform for each other. Parents and students welcome.
1:30-3:30 p.m. – Jazz auditions (Bertram and Judith Kohl Bldg): Auditioning students play with a live rhythm section. Several jazz faculty members will be in attendance and a digital video is made for subsequent review of others who were not present.
4:30-6:00 p.m. – Oberlin Jazz Ensemble rehearsal (Bertram and Judith Kohl Bldg): Watch the current Oberlin students' big band rehearsal. (Optional)
For all others:
We encourage you to arrive on campus by 3:30 p.m. on Friday for registration in the Conservatory Lounge. Please refer to the preliminary outline of weekend activities below for details. An updated version will be provided for you when you arrive. Beginning at 4 p.m. in Kulas Recital Hall, there will be an Audition Weekend Orientation Recital and Meeting, followed by a Faculty/Student Reception for prospective students, families, and friends.
We do hold registration again on Saturday at 8:30 a.m., for those who are unable to arrive Friday afternoon. Individual performance auditions begin at 9:30 a.m.. Most auditions will be held in the morning, but auditions may run into the afternoon in larger instrument areas on busy audition weekends. If you schedule is such that you must leave by a certain time on Saturday, please notify the Conservatory Admissions Office at 440-775-8413 or email@example.com.

4:30 p.m. - Faculty/Student Reception for prospective students, families, and friends - Conservatory Annex. Come meet current students and faculty in an informal setting.
5:00 p.m. - String Meeting - Conservatory - Bibbins Room 224 - A recommended informational meeting hosted by String Department Chair Professor Peter Slowik for all students auditioning on violin, viola, cello or double bass (families welcome)
5:30 p.m. - TIMARA applicants - pizza dinner with current students, parents also welcome, leaves from general reception
Evening - Concert (for details see the Events Calendar)
8:30 a.m. - Audition Weekend Registration (For those who did not register Friday) - Conservatory Lounge - Conservatory (Central Section)
9:00 a.m. - Pre-Audition Meeting - Warner Concert Hall - Conservatory - (Central Section) - Everyone welcome

11:00 a.m. - The Oberlin Experience - Student/Conservatory Dean Panel - Conservatory (Central Section) - C-25 - Parents and applicants welcome
11:00 a.m. - Individual Composition & TIMARA Interview Appointments Begin - Conservatory - For Composition and TIMARA applicants
1:00 p.m. - Campus tour - departing from the Conservatory Lounge - For interested applicants and parents
3:00 p.m. - Composition/TIMARA "Midway Concert" - Kulas Recital Hall - concert featuring works of current Composition and TIMARA students. (only during the February 11, 18, and 25 audition weekends)
NOTE: Theory testing will be done online and not on campus during the audition weekend.
