The Oberlin Conservatory of Music is pleased to announce the Oberlin Flute Institute. The institute is designed for high-school and college students, teachers, and professional and amateur musicians who wish to devote a week to intensive work on flute-playing skills. All are invited to attend an exhilarating week of master classes, lessons, performance classes, and recitals.

Master classes will be held for five hours daily, and all participants will have ample opportunity to receive instruction from the distinguished faculty members. During the week, each participant will receive a daily group instrumental class with Kathleen Chastain. Ms. Chastain will also give each student at least one half-hour private lesson for the week.

Michel Debost will teach each participant two master class/lessons. He will also work with each student in preparation for the evening public performance classes.

Participants may work on the repertoire of their choice. However, it must be understood that the shorter the pieces chosen, the more opportunity participants will have to vary their styles.
