I am currently a Bilingual Domestic Violence Court Advocate/Companion for a Domestic Violence shelter in Arlington, VA. I accompany women (and men) through the process of filing for protective orders in due to domestic violence. The Spanish skills I learned at Oberlin have allowed me to communicate with the many Spanish-speaking clients I have. While at Oberlin I was active on the Nicaragua Women's Sister Cooperative, visiting Nicaragua during my sophomore year winter term. I taught the Women's Health Exco for a semester and I also worked with the Immigrant Worker Project to organize ESL classes for migrant workers in rural Ohio.
