Class deans are available to help students solve various academic, social, and personal problems. They do not replace faculty advisors. Instead, they work in concert with faculty advisors to support students as they navigate the transitions of college life.
- In addition, class deans:
- may, advise or refer students to appropriate resources on or off campus
- are also the easily identifiable first point of contact for faculty, staff, and parents who have questions or concerns about a student
- serve as one of the many resources on campus when students experience crises or emergency situations
