Live Loud and audibly Turkish at Oberlin
Sarp Yavuz, a first-year student from Istanbul, is a long way from home. Working at WOBC, the college's radio station, has given him the opportunity to talk about adjusting to life in America and Oberlin. Oberlin to Host Foreign-Language Program in Summer 2010
Oberlin College has been selected as a new site for the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy, a foreign-language summer study program for talented youth with additional program sites in Vermont and Massachusetts. [Read More]

Allen Memorial Art Museum Closed For Renovations
This month the Allen Memorial Art Museum will begin a building renovation to preserve and enhance the educational and aesthetic experiences it provides to the college and community. Planned improvements include updating mechanical, climate control, plumbing, electrical, and security systems; building a new interior vestibule at the front entrance; and installing new painting screens and cabinets for art storage. Oberlin has limited funding for recent Oberlin alumni attending graduate school. The deadline for receipt of applications is Monday, February 15. Alumni are also invited to submit applications to the White House Fellowship Program. [Read More]

Commencement/Reunion Weekend
It’s winter term here on campus, however the Alumni Office is busy preparing for the warmest of occasions: Commencement/Reunion Weekend to be held May 28-31. Besides encouraging alumni to bring refillable water bottles this year in our ongoing effort to make the weekend as environmentally-friendly as possible, we are also encouraging alumni to register for events online. Men's Basketball Alumni Day
The Oberlin College men’s basketball program will host its annual Alumni Day on Saturday, February 20. Former Yeomen players and their families are invited to return to campus to take part in the day’s events. [Read More]

A Sneak Peek at the OAM Winter 2010 Issue
The soon to be mailed winter issue of the Oberlin Alumni Magazine will include an eight-page spread on Oberlin authors, profiles of alumni who have received appointments in President Barack Obama's administration, and a look at the EnviroAlum's first reunion.
