Oberlin's Reaction To Alumna's Ordeal 10 Years Later
Ten years ago, Cynthia Stewart ’74, a longtime Oberlin resident, took pictures of her 8-year-old daughter in the family's bathtub. The film was then taken to the local Discount Drug Mart to be processed. What happened next caused prosecutors to take action and many in the Oberlin community to rally in Stewart’s defense, as told in professor Lynn Powell’s book, Framing Innocence. [Read More]

2010 Oberlin Bike Festival
More than 550 people visited Tappan Square in September for the 2010 Oberlin Bike Festival—48 Oberlin High School students left with new or refurbished bicycles that were given away during the event while festival goers received 330 new bike helmets. Fairchild 1970 Reunion
In the second week of September in 1970, some 80 first-year Oberlin men moved into Fairchild Hall, the only men’s dorm on campus that year. They came from rural areas and big cities, from private and public schools, from near and, in at least one case, very far. In the second week of September in 2010, 19 of those men returned to campus for a special reunion. [Read More]
