Printing
CIT supports printing on HP printers in labs (students) and in offices (faculty and staff). CIT is an authorized repair center for HP printers.
Lab Printing
Printing in labs is accomplished using a program called Pharos Uniprint. Each lab is equipped with a Print Release Station, which is basically a computer with a card swipe mechanism attached. Once a user swipes her/his OCID card, the print jobs are shown and can be released. Funds are then decremented from, first, the user's Free Print Account (a specific allotment for students, reset each semester with no carryover). When that Free Print amount has been depleted, funds are then withdrawn from the user's ObieDollar account. Students, and others, may also print using cards available for purchase from the Value Transaction Stations located in the libraries.
Students in residence halls may wish to install a lab printer on their personal computers, print to that printer, and pick up the printout later in that lab. Complete details on how to print in labs can be found on the CIT Wiki.
Note: Free Print Accounts for faculty and/or staff that may need to print in labs is established as needed. Contact the CIT Help Desk for assistance.
Office Printing
Printing in offices is accomplished using a program called iPrint. Office printers are set up by CIT Client Services staff prior to, or as part of, the delivery of new or upgraded computers to faculty and staff. Users may set up office printers themselves by following the instructions on the CIT Wiki. Note: Printing to office printers cannot be accomplished from residence halls.
Konica Printers
Konica printers are not supported by CIT. Their support comes directly from the vendor, Blue Technologies. Information on receiving support for Konica printers (contact information/phone number) should be posted directly on each Konica printer unit.
If you need technical assistance with any Konica printer, you should contact Meritech Blue directly at 216-271-5800. Any issues with Konica printer support should be directed to the Director of Purchasing and Auxiliary Services, (440) 775-6648.
