The XARTS Fund supports the development and execution of collaborative, multidisciplinary, artistic projects to be implemented during winter term and the summer by students in both the College of Arts and Sciences and the Conservatory of Music. Individual or group projects that demonstrate creative and focused cross-disciplinary endeavors will be awarded grants of up to $4,000.

Applicants are encouraged to prepare for the application process and the challenges of implementing funded projects by taking advantage of workshops, courses, and advising through the Creativity & Leadership Program and the Office of Conservatory Professional Development. Applicants are encouraged to review their proposals prior to submission with the conservatory’s director of professional development.

Who Should Apply?

All current Oberlin College of Arts and Sciences or Conservatory of Music students—in good academic standing—are eligible to apply. Students on leave are not eligible for funding. Only applicants working toward multidisciplinary projects will be considered. The XARTS Fund typically does not support an individual's participation in group winter-term projects, unless the individual's use of the grant is to support distinctive work separate from that of the group project.

Each discrete project may be funded only once by the XARTS grant.
