John Fredieu received a PhD in Genetics in 1991 from Case Western Reserve University. After two postdoctoral fellowships in developmental biology, John returned to Case as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy. He teaches gross anatomy and embryology in the medical, dental, and graduate curricula. In addition, John is involved in medical education research, in particular, the application of digital media to learning and assessment. He has directed the production and assessment of educational media that uses 3D modeling, animation, and internal assessment to examine human embryology. Currently, John is examining the best-practices of implementation of these digital media and media based on additive manufacturing into medical and dental curricula.'
