Leah Newman is a curator, dancer, and multi-media artist based out of New York City.  As a curator she strives to create exhibitions that include live or participatory media. She has curated shows on Oberlin College’s campus such as Back @ It, Zoo, Counterpoints, Between you and me, and the College’s 2016 Commencement art show. Leah is trained in modern, post-modern, and contemporary dance technique. Her choreography combines dance forms, pedestrian performance, and improvisation in works that often focus on physical and mental strength. She has performed in New York at New York Live Arts and at Oberlin’s Fall Forward and Spring Back dance concerts. Leah’s interest in art and dance has lead to her creation of various multimedia works that explore feminist tropes. Her work includes sculpture, video, sound, installation, and performance.
