Zach Resnick is a trumpet and guitar player that studied Jazz Performance and Politics at Oberlin College and Conservatory. In 2011, he won the ’Oustanding Soloist’ award at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. As a native New Yorker, he has performed at local venues, including The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory, The Metropolitan Room, and Fat Cat. He has also performed at venues in the Middle East, including Shablul, Beit Hamudim, and Levontin 7 in Tel Aviv, and Beit Aneeseh and the Jenin Freedom Theater in the West Bank. He enjoys teaching, performing, and composing and has shared the stage with creative artists such as Jason Linder, Achille Succi, Stefano Battaglia, Charlie Lagond, Don Hahn, and Steven Feifke. Zach has been known to play and write for styles ranging from jazz, to pop, rock, blues and funk.

In the summer of 2013, he founded and led the Yafo Harmony Initiative, using music education for underprivileged Israeli and Palestinian youth as a vehicle for social change. In 2015, Zach spearheaded research looking at how internet media influences understanding of the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict.
