Financial Aid Office
As an institution committed to economic diversity among its student body, Oberlin meets 100 percent of the demonstrated financial need—as calculated by the Office of Financial Aid—of all students who complete their financial aid application process by the appropriate deadlines, in the form of scholarships, grants, work-study, and loans. The Office of Financial Aid offers financial counseling and maintains the strictest confidentiality with students’ and families’ personal and financial information. Eligibility for need-based financial aid will be evaluated in a consistent manner for each year that a student is enrolled at Oberlin. However, aid eligibility may change if a family’s circumstances change; the most common reasons for a change in financial aid eligibility are a change to family income or a sibling entering or leaving undergraduate study. Students whose families experience circumstances that cause financial hardship, such as the loss of a job, a divorce, a death, or an illness not covered by insurance, may appeal the calculation of their financial need.
Can I afford Oberlin?
Oberlin's financial aid policy is simple: Oberlin is committed to providing financial resources to students who would be unable to pursue an Oberlin education without such assistance.
