We commit to you so you can commit to us.

To ease the burden of the high cost of college, Oberlin will award a renewable $10,000 Oberlin Commitment Scholarship to all new students who apply and enroll in the College of Arts & Sciences and/or the Conservatory of Music for the first time in fall 2024. This commitment reflects Oberlin's historic, ongoing efforts to broaden educational access.

Oberlin meets 100 percent of the demonstrated need for every student as calculated by the Office of Financial Aid, and regardless of need, all applicants are considered for merit based scholarships. Grants and scholarships typically make up about 75 percent of a student's award, with the balance composed of work-study and low-interest loans. In all, Oberlin has committed $75 million in institutional funding to provide access to an excellent education.

Oberlin’s Quick Cost Estimator provides an easy way for families to estimate their need-based financial award. It asks just six questions, and requires information that shouldn't be too hard for you to gather. For a more comprehensive estimate based on the Department of Education's template, see the Net Price Calculator. While both tools are helpful in planning for the cost of college, keep in mind that the figures they provide are only estimates.

The Office of Financial Aid maintains the strictest confidentiality with students’ and families’ personal information. If you have additional questions or cannot find the information you are looking for, please feel free to contact us.
