Health Education Theater
The center performs many of its health education services through the use of educational theater. Trained and experienced students create skits and performances for college students and students of all ages in Lorain County. We also offer workshops and leadership programs for non-profit organizations and public schools to teach difficult health education topics and encourage use of theater to develop positive life skills. Topics covered in theater outreach include sexualized violence prevention, alcohol/drugs, sexual health, gender and sexuality, and HIV/AIDS. Annually, the center runs ‘The OC’, a production performed during first-year orientation to introduce new students to concepts like college lifestyle and policy, alcohol and drug use, sexuality and safer sex practices, and relationship skills.
