Our Center
Mission Statement
The Center for Leadership in Health Promotion provides programs and services to foster balance and well being. Through integrative health promotion programming, we support and educate the individual and work to create a healthy campus community.
About the Center for Leadership in Health Promotion
Conscious of diverse student lifestyles, the center provides both passive and active health education programs to best fit the needs of students. The center’s innovative, progressive programming is student-designed and intended to encourage personal leadership in peer health promotion. The center provides health education services, resources, and volunteer opportunities for students. Largely staffed by student Peer Health Advocates, who provide leadership programming concerning a broad range of health issues, the center connects students with campus and community health resources. This is accomplished by creating opportunities for students to serve as health educators in their campus community, and to actively explore the process of health promotion. The center also provides students with opportunities to participate in health promotion outreach to the greater Lorain County Community.
