Sexual Health

The Center for Leadership in Health Promotion develops and supports efforts on campus to encourage safer sexual decisions. Our Peer Health Advocates make and distribute safer sex kits as well as provide posters, brochures, flyers, trainings, workshops, peer health education, and links to sexual health student organizations. The center also coordinates high profile events, such as guest speakers or collaborations with other organizations.

About Sexual Health

The World Health Organization defines sexual health as "the state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being related to sexuality; it is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction and infirmity. Sexual health requires a positive, respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. For sexual health to be attained and maintained, the sexual rights of all persons must be respected, protected and fulfilled."

The center addresses a range of issues related to human sexuality. If you’d like to schedule a program for your student organization, class, or dorm, please e-mail us at life.skills@oberlin.edu
