Storage Regulations
- All items stored in college storage must meet UPS shipping requirements and must include an identification tag, which will be provided when you arrive at storage. UPS requirements are indicated below:
- Full name and home address.
- Maximum measurements = 18x18x16 allowed in Oberlin storage. Stop by Residential Education, Stevenson-Griswold to see actual box size.
- Maximum weight = 70 lbs.
- Contents must be in a sturdy box sealed with clear packing tape.
- Residents may store a maximum of three boxes.
- Resident owned furniture, refrigerators, rugs, empty boxes, etc., may not be stored in college storage areas. To store these items, use one of the local storage companies.
- Residents will be billed for the removal of non-authorized items found within storage. The owners of refrigerators found in storage will be billed $60 each for their removal and disposal. The college will dispose of all unauthorized items in storage or possessions left more than one year.
- There will be no access to storage areas over vacation periods or during the summer recess.
- Students store items at their own risk. Oberlin College assumes no liability for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
Please note that storage on campus is extremely limited. Students should consider other storage options listed below.
On-Campus Storage Options
Everything currently in storage needs to be removed by Sunday, May 6, 2012. To remove storage items contact an RA during their duty hours or your HLEC anytime. All items removed from storage must be kept in each student's room and not left in the hallways or lounges. Items left in the hallways or lounges will be discarded or removed at the owner's expense. All items left in storage after Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 11 p.m., will be removed with a fee charged to the owner.
- Graduating seniors
- Graduating seniors are not allowed to store in college facilities and must remove all their items by 11 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012.
- In Hall Storage (for all Co-ops, Program Houses and Traditional Halls)
- As a courtesy, students living in a residence hall (students living in co-ops, program houses, and traditional halls) are permitted to store some of their belongings in residence hall storage areas over the summer. Personal items must be stored in your assigned building for next year. If you do not have a housing assignment, but plan to live on campus next Fall, you can use the storage in your current hall. See your student staff member for housing confirmation. See below for storage regulations. Please note that storage is on a first come, first served basis and is not guaranteed.

- Saturday, May 19: Storage Closed for the summer at 11 p.m.
- East Field Storage (for students taking leave/study abroad/village housing)
- Village Housing residents or students taking any sort of leave from campus (including Study Abroad) may store belongings in long-term storage located in East Field. This is the ONLY location available to students taking a leave. See below for storage regulations. Please note that East Field storage is extremely limited and is based on a first come, first served basis and is not guaranteed. East Field storage is located off Professor St. just north of the Union/Goldsmith parking lot.

- Wednesday, May 16-Friday May 18 (or until storage is full) 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Friday, May 18: Long Term Storage is CLOSED for the summer at 4 p.m.
Bike Storage
Bicycles can be stored in the basement of Noah, Burton, and Tank Halls. Bikes must be registered with Safety and Security to be stored. Dates and Hours of operation are listed below:
- Bicycle Storage Hours:
- Monday, May 14-Thursday, May 17: 10-11 p.m.
- Thursday, May 17: Bike Storage is CLOSED for the summer at 11 p.m.
- Safety & Security will remove all bikes found not registered or not locked to a bike rack from campus during the week of May 21. Contact Safety & Security for more information @ x58444. All Bikes left on campus that are not in bike storage after the week of May 21 will be removed by Safety and Security, unless the bike is registered to a student on the list of students who are staying at Oberlin for the summer.
