CIGNA Plan

Our Third Party Administrator is CIGNA, one of the nation's largest health care providers. You may access the online CIGNA Provider Directory through http://www.cigna.com. If you have not done so, go to CIGNA's web site and set up MyCIGNA.com. Employees may design the site to meet their needs as to the information displayed. Oberlin College will be using CIGNA's OAP provider panel. Employees may search for a provider by name or by specialty area.  You may also access CIGNA's behavioral provider information.

By calling 800-CIGNA24 (800-244-6224) you are able to get your pharmacy, medical, and mental health questions answered. You can also get your medical procedures pre-certified.

CIGNA's automated system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and customer service is staffed live 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, Eastern Standard Time. Although you may call at a time convenient for you, 10 Customer Service Specialists for the Oberlin College health plans staff the aforementioned hours.

The Tel-Drug automated pharmacy reorder system is available 24 hours, seven days a week and is staffed live 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. You must have a credit card available to use this service.

For those employees on the Oberlin College B-Plan, your Tel-Drug orders will need to be reordered by phone. The web site is not programmed to recognize the atypical benefits of the B-Plan.

As part of the Oberlin College Health Plan-A and Plan-B, your health care premiums will automatically be deducted on a pre-tax basis as a condition of enrollment.

The health care plan design continues to offer a high quality plan. (See the Summary Plan Documents under Benefits, Health Insurance tab). Among other features, CIGNA will provide access to a nationwide network of doctors and hospitals; access to nurses on a 24 hours/seven-days a week health information telephone line; and access to a 24-hour behavioral health crisis line.
