International Students

The Office of International Student Services issues and reviews F-1 visa documents and assists students with matters related to their visa status, social security numbers, taxation, and employment in the United States. 

Oberlin's international student community includes approximately 300 students with foreign citizenship who are studying at Oberlin on an F-1 visa and approximately 200 students with dual U.S. and foreign citizenship, permanent residency in the US, or U.S. citizenship with permanent residence abroad.

Countries our current students come from include: Afghanistan, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Latvia, Lebanon, Macau, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, South Africa, Singapore, South Korea, Slovakia, Somalia, Spain, Switzerland, Syria, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom, and Vietnam.
