The Advising Program at Oberlin College helps students develop meaningful educational plans and goals, make the most of their educational choices, reflect on and synthesize their Oberlin experiences, and grow intellectually, artistically, and personally.
Advising is holistic and provides a range of advising resources necessary for students to define and achieve educational, career, and personal goals. Faculty members and members of the administrative and professional staff offer educational (academic) advising. The Office of the Dean of Studies coordinates advising for students in the College of Arts and Sciences and in the Double-Degree Program; the Conservatory Associate Deans Office oversees advising for students in the Conservatory of Music and the Double-Degree Program.
Students receive career advising from faculty members, the Office of Career Services, and staff members in other offices. Students may also receive personal advising by many offices within the Division of Student Life, other campus offices, and by faculty members.
