The Oberlin College Parents website is intended to provide you with useful information about the college's programs, resources, policies, and procedures. We've sought to gather together in one place basic information about the college, provide answers to practical questions or point you to the right resource, and generally convey a sense of what Oberlin College is about. We welcome your questions or suggestions about the website. Send your comments by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Parents and Family Weekend
Our annual Parents and Family Weekend will be November 4-6. You can check in beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday. Start your time on campus by visiting a class with or without your student. The event officially begins with a reception at 4:30 p.m. Meet other parents, as well as students, faculty, and staff. Afterwards, check out any of the varied events scheduled for the weekend.
A continental breakfast will greet you Saturday morning, followed by a campus resource fair. Staff from various offices will gather in one room to provide information about their services. Throughout the day, you can attend faculty lectures and faculty-led small group discussions.
Conclude the weekend by joining us from 9-11 a.m. for breakfast with President Marvin Krislov.
Should you need transportation, we will offer a shuttle service to and from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

New to Oberlin? Our Handbook for Parents and Families of New Students is a quick reference guide to get you direct and detailed information about Oberlin. We have included topics of interest to parents and families of new Oberlin students.
The handbook also features an abbreviated list of important campus contacts.
Student Health Insurance
Oberlin College requires that all students maintain student health insurance coverage as a condition of enrollment. You may apply for a waiver if your student already has coverage under an alternate health insurance plan that meets certain minimum requirements, meaning that is comparable to the Oberlin College health insurance plan.
Students without health insurance must enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan provided and coordinated by Academic Health Plans (AHP). This plan offers students and their dependents an affordable, high quality health insurance plan. If you have health insurance and wish to waive this plan, you must do so by completing an online waiver form available on the AHP website.
Refer to the Student Health Services website for complete details about this process. If you have specific questions, call Student Health Services, (440) 775-8180, or send e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
