The Oberlin College Bookstore is on the corner just west of the intersection of Main and College Streets. The college-bookstore division of Barnes and Noble manages the bookstore, which was once the Co-op Bookstore. Stocked with textbooks you’ll need for class, it also has official college merchandise: T-shirts, caps, sweatshirts, hoodies, bibs, pennants, and even socks. You’ll also find items for your residence hall including lamps, stationary, clocks, energy efficient light bulbs, fans, and bedding items.
If you want to buy something for your dad, a sibling, or a friend, the bookstore’s gift section has the usual suspects: travel mugs, key chains, microbrew glasses, decals, peel and stick tattoos, and more. The bookstore also carries computers and accessories and has online ordering capabilities.
And like a number of colleges and universities, the Oberlin College Bookstore has a textbook rental program and a textbook buy-back program. Yet before you hand over the credit card, find out if the textbook is part of the bookstore’s e-book collection. If so, you may download the textbook to your PC or Mac and access the contents with an e-Reader. The bookstore currently offers more than 13,000 textbook titles in digital format and more than 500,000 e-books.
The Oberlin College Bookstore is part of the Barnes and Noble College Booksellers partnership, a comprehensive service-oriented bookstore that includes more than 600 campus bookstores nationwide.
Visit the Oberlin College Bookstore at 37 W. College St., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and until 5 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sunday.
