Safety and Wellness
Oberlin College strives to provide a safe living and working environment for students, staff, and faculty. Safety on college campuses has become an increasingly important concern nationwide. Oberlin College offers a host of resources to help students make the transition to college life and the responsibilities that come with this important life change.
Officers from Oberlin's Office of Safety and Security patrol the campus community and offer crime prevention and other programs during the year. The College also collaborates as appropriate with the city of Oberlin to help ensure a safe and secure campus environment.
Oberlin's Health Education Services assist students in achieving greater personal health, building stronger interpersonal relationships, and forging a strong sense of community. Individual help on a variety of such topics as alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, sexuality, sexual assault, HIV, and stress management are available to students. Outreach programs can also be scheduled for residence halls and co-ops, clubs and organizations, and academic classes.
