Jordan Suter (Ph.D., 2007, Cornell University) is an environmental economist with interest in issues related to land, water, and energy use. Much of his research utilizes economics experiments to analyze how policies aimed at reducing pollution, groundwater use, and energy consumption influence human behavior. He manages the Oberlin Mobile Experimental Economics Laboratory (OMEEL), which is comprised of 18 wirelessly networked netbook computers and utilizes this resource in much of his research. He also analyzes spatially derived data to evaluate participation in and design of land conservation programs. He currently teaches courses in environmental and natural resource economics as well as principles of economics.
