Areas of Special Interest

20th and 21st century German literature and film, translation studies, transnational mobility, embodied communication, and gendered labor

Robin Ellis is currently completing her dissertation, titled “Making Translation Visible: Interpreters in German Literature and Film,” which asks how interpreter figures allow writers and filmmakers to engage with historically specific questions of translation, communication, and bodily presence.
