Project Description

Fellowship Recipient, 2009

About The Project

The One World, One Rope project is a global, instructional jump rope program beginning in Tanzania and Kenya. As the project leader, I will create teams in both countries, promote the formation of national governing organizations, and organize the first national jump rope competitions in East Africa. In addition to teaching, my focus will be building a network of committed coaches, knowledgeable instructors, and skilled jump ropers.  The program will provide new opportunities for all participants to experience success, develop healthy lifestyles, increase social ties, and take on roles of leadership and responsibility within their communities.
