Summer Conference Employment

Greetings from Conference Services at Oberlin College! We are excited that you are considering working for Conference Services this summer. It's a great time of year to be in Northeast Ohio with concerts in Tappan Square, Fourth of July on the Lake, and many festivals and shows in Cleveland. Consider the summer months an opportunity to explore the area, which can be difficult to accomplish during the academic year.

During the summer we work with many unique groups that bring a different life to our campus. Some of the groups include the Socialist Worker's Party, Ohio Scottish Arts School, and many youth sports camps. Each day brings a different experience to the summer.

Positions currently available for summer 2012 include:

  • Guest Services Assistant- This position is now closed
  • Conference Operations Assistant- This position is now closed
  • Res Ed Opertations Assistant- This posisition is now closed
  • Ground Crew- This posistion is now closed

To apply follow these simple steps:

  1. Complete the Application. The applications will be available March 14th, 2012 and will continue on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. Priority will be considered to applicants who submit their application by March 28th, 2012.
  2. Provide one reference. We prefer that it be from either a former or current supervisor or from a College-affiliated person (i.e., professor, administrative staff; other students do NOT qualify).Please direct the reference you use to the Reference Form.
  3. Please provide in your interview availability in your application. 
  4. Interview. Your interview time will be assigned to you and will be with representatives of Conference Services staff April 2nd-April 12th, 2012.
  5. Notifications of hire will occur the week of April 16th, 2012.
  6. Commit yourself to the job. All positions typically work 40 hours per week with evening and weekend hours. This job must be your first priority in the summer. Often, student employees will be asked to work overtime.
