Housing Selection
For current dates and timeline of the Housing Selection process please visit our Important Dates page. Students may register as an individual or as a group. At the close of the registration process, based on semesters in residence, students will be assigned an appointment time to select housing.
In recent years, the Office of Residential Education has received feedback from students that the housing selection process was confusing and inefficient. While minor changes were made in the past to revise the housing selection process these revisions did not fully improve the selection process. Therefore, we felt that it was appropriate to create and implement a completely new housing selection process. Below are the goals that we hope to accomplish with the new housing selection process.
Goals
- Simplify the process to avoid complexity and confusion
- Shorten the process to ensure students do not need to worry about housing for months
- Reduce student commitment to the process by ensuring that the majority of students have housing at their first housing appointment
- Increase the number of students who leave campus at the end of spring semester with a fall assignment
- Decrease student anxiety and frustration regarding housing selection
