Dear New Students,

Greetings from the International Student Resource Center at Oberlin College! We are pleased that you will be joining us this August and look forward to meeting you in person. We look forward to working with you as you adjust to life in Oberlin and the United States.

In mid- to late spring, we will mail you a packet that includes very important information:

Form I-20: This document is part of your application for an F-1 student visa. (Note: US citizens, US permanent residents, or students on other US visa types do not need an F-1 visa, and therefore do not need this document.)

The Welcome Booklet: essential information to help you apply for an F-1 visa and plan your travel to Oberlin.

Letter from the Registrar: This letter will provide you with the information you need to log into your Oberlin email and ID accounts and complete your new student forms. Please read it and follow the directions carefully.

The international student pre-orientation program begins Sunday, August 20, and continues until new student orientation begins on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  As an international student, you may move into your dorm room on Saturday, August 19, 2017. The international student pre-orientation program provides you with important information about your US visa status, employment regulations, cultural adjustment, academic policies and expectations, housing and dining on campus, financial aid policies, and everyday life in Oberlin and the United States.

Our office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m., eastern time. You can contact us by phone (440.775.8462) or at international.students@oberlin.edu.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
