2012 Student Fellows
The Rubin Institute student fellows are a group of hand-selected Oberlin students chosen by the Teaching Panel based on their ability to write concert reviews. Leading up to the institute, the aspiring young writers will have worked with a special preparatory team of local journalists and writers while taking the conservatory’s new fall course, Introduction to Music Criticism.
At the end of the weeklong series, one student fellow will be awarded the $10,000 Rubin Prize in Music Criticism for further study in the field of music criticism.
