Cooper Piano Festival
July 30 - August 7, 2015
The Cooper Piano Festival for advanced pianists of all ages!
Be our guest at Oberlin Conservatory of Music to enjoy a busy week of lessons, masterclasses, performances, and forums while having fun meeting other pianists of all ages.
Each Festival participant will receive 3 private lessons and optional performances in the Festival Competition and Participant Recital. Participants may also audition for a limited number of spaces in Master Classes given by Festival Faculty.
Study piano with conservatory faculty and international guests, observe the Cooper International Violin Competition in Severance Hall with the Cleveland Orchestra, and challenge yourself in a one-day Piano Festival Competition.
The week begins with the Cooper International Violin Competition Honors Recital on July 30. The very next evening, on July 31, you are off to Cleveland, Ohio, to enjoy the Cooper International Competition Concerto finalists perform with the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall.
Whether as a performer or audience member, plan to enjoy the Festival Competition featuring 15-minute performances of a classical sonata movement and repertoire of the competitor’s choice. All participants are eligible to perform in the Festival Competition. We will award prizes to first through sixth place: $500 for 1st, $400 for 2nd, $300 for 3rd, and $100 for 4th, 5th, 6th place.
