Cooper Piano Festival

The Cooper Piano Festival for pianists of all ages and skill levels!
Be our guest at Oberlin Conservatory of Music to enjoy a busy week of lessons, masterclasses, performances, and forums while having fun meeting other pianists of all ages. Each Festival participant will receive three private lessons, a performance in a masterclass and optional performances in the Festival Competition and Participant Recital.
Study piano with conservatory faculty and international guests, observe the Cooper International Piano Competition in Severance Hall with the Cleveland Orchestra, and challenge yourself in a one-day Piano Festival Competition.
A Special Offer for Teachers
Piano teachers who bring four or more students: Join us for free, you just pay for your travel expenses. You’ll be our guest and live in the “teacher’s corridor” in Robert Lewis Kahn Hall, our newest, air-conditioned residence hall. We will provide all meals.
The week begins with the Cooper International Piano Competition Honors Recital on July 24. The very next evening, on July 25, you are off to Cleveland, Ohio, to enjoy the Cooper International Competition Concerto finalists perform with the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall.
Whether as a performer or audience member, plan to enjoy the Festival Competition featuring 15-minute performances of a classical sonata movement and repertoire of the competitor’s choice. All participants are eligible to perform in the Festival Competition. We will award prizes to first through sixth place: $500 for 1st, $400 for 2nd, $300 for 3rd, and $100 for 4th, 5th, 6th place.
